You will usually not find you most creative ideas for your game sitting at a desk and musing about it. Instead, often enough, it will happen when you are doing something completely different and not specifically thinking about it. So you do not need to harass your family and / or friends with your hobby daily :)
Of course there is also creative help around the development of games that can be used. Here are some 'contacts you can use:
- The team of www.spielmaterial.de
- Professional authors within the Game Designer Guild
- at the meeting Göttingen Game Designer's Meeting every year on the first weekend of June
- at the SPIEL games fair in Essen in October
- at the Game Author's Conference, every year in March in Weilburg/Hessen
- at various game designer meetings
In our shop you will also find suitable literature for self-study :
- Leitfaden für Spieleerfinder - The right book for beginners providing an overview into the world of inventing games
- Spieleentwickeln - The results of the Weilburger author meetings coming out every year with a different focus
- The Art of Game Design - This book shows that the same basic psychological principles that work for board games, card and sports games, are the key to the development of high quality games.
